Introduction
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is David Mizell and I'm currently a practicing school psychologist. I have been working in this capacity for the last 23 years and am looking to offer my services on a private contractual basis. I am able to provide full psycho-educational assessmensts including IQ testing, academic testing, social and emotional testing, ADHD and Autism Spectrum assessments.
Often schools do not have the internal resources to provide these assessments. Having worked with children over the years, I feel strongly that children can benefit from identifying concerns related to low academic achievement or have social and emotional struggles. These assessments may also open doors for students who may need extra support academically by being given extra time for tests and assignments and even post-secondary supports in a college or university.
I hold a Master’s degree in Community Counseling and an Educational Specialist degree in School Psychology. I'm also a National Certified School Psychologist and a member of the National Board of Certified Counselors. My credentials reflect a strong foundation in both counseling and school psychology, emphasizing my commitment to supporting student mental health and educational success.
Knowing how costly these assessments can be and wanting to make a difference in the lives of these children, I'm offering my services at a discounted rate compared to those offered by most outside testing agencies and providers. I am also able to do the assessments without an extensive waiting period as I can empathise with how worried parents can be in wanting to get help for their child as soon as possible.
As a result of Covid 19, I have developed the ability to do these assessments virtually, but can also assess in person depending on the location of the individual needing testing.

Our Services
Psychological Assessment is important to understand the root cause of the challenges a child may be facing. Psychological assessment incorporates formal testing with assessment tools that are valid and reliable and are recognized worldwide. The most updated and relevant assessment tools will be used to stay at the forefront.
Evaluations are comprehensive and incorporate:

Assessment Types DescriptionCognitive Assessments Intellectual assessment is unlike a school examination. It is a process of engaging in activities with a child that provides a broad sampling of his or her thinking abilities.
Academic Achievements When there is a question why your child is not performing as well as they should, achievement testing will be offered.
In these tests, your child’s academic potential or Intelligence will be tested and this will be supplemented with achievement tests to assess the child’s level of reading, writing, spelling, and ability to do math.
A comprehensive report and recommendations will be provided on how to better help your child cope with the school demands. ADHD and Executive Functioning The diagnostic assessment is designed to specifically tailor the tests to questions or concerns you may have about your child. This assessment helps to identify problem areas and diagnose your child in the areas of attention, hyperacivity, impulsive bheaviors and areas of executve functioning.
Autism Assessments A variety of assessment tools to diagnose Autism, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Pervasive Development Disorder (PDD), and Asperger Syndrome.It is important to cover a few areas when testing for these disorders in order to make sure that the diagnosis given is accurate. Social and Emotional Assessments A variety of tools are used to help identify social and emotional concerns including depression, anxiety, and other related concerns.
